Description
FACT, a chemometric toolbox for SCILAB.

FACT for "Free-Access Chemometric Toolbox" is a chemometric toolbox dedicated to
multivariate analysis. It contains very famous applications e.g. partial least
squares regression (PLSR), but also less common applications e.g. pretraitments
by orthogonal projection, discriminant methods or multiway analysis.

To get started, a tutorial and training datasets are available at:

Where is the tutorial?

Also, when I look at the help it is all *.xml files -- how do I convert these to readable
format (html?)?

Thanks

Hi.

For the tutorial, please download getting_started.zip. You will find pdf files EN or FR
explaining how to use several methods; and the associated datasets.

For the html help:

solution 1: I suppose that you have downloaded the file: FACT.0.4-3-src.zip? With Scilab
you execute the builder.sce file (to build the help and other items); then you execute the
loader.sce file that has just been created by the builder (to make the toolbox available
to Scilab). Now you can open the help files (html) with the Scilab help, which are located
at: /help/en-US/scilab_en_US_help/.
Repeat the operation each time Scilab is opened, for the loader only.

solution 2 (more straightforward and sustainable): just type: atomsInstall('FACT') in the
command window of Scilab.
